Well, let me start off by saying hello to everyone, and this site is awesome! For the past few weeks I have been lurking around this site, and I must say I am very impressed with all the information I have found, it's is so much better than some other forums I have been on. Anyway, a few weeks back I picked up my first sc, it’s an 89 auto converted to 5spd. I bought it from a friend of mine from school (Wyotech), and I can’t say I have ever been more excited about a new car. Well back to the car, like I said its a 89 auto converted to 5spd and it came with a few goodies here they are: BHJ Billet harmonic balancer, K&N air filter, LiveWires, Throttle body bored to 85mm, Magnum Powers big bore sc top, 10% sc overdrive pulley, 255 lph fuel pump, Comp Cams stage 2 cam, B&M Ripper shifter, Stage 2 clutch kit, 4.10 gears (these got to go, 3.55's going in), cross drilled rotors, KVR carbon fiber brake pads, Kooks long tube headers w/ Jet Hot coating, SCP 3" cat back exhaust, high flow cats, Polyurethane bushings all around, Engine is bored .030 over, sc and heads are ported and polished and port matched, and o-ring gaskets. I think that is all, but I plan to add a good bit to this car. Well, let me know what u think and feel free give me some ideas as to what I should do/add next, I love to hear other peoples input. Peace

Welcome to the board. Your post prompts a couple of questions from my end. Are you attending the Wyotech school in Blairsville PA? Do the folks there know about Super Coupes? What course of study are you taking there? Think there is any chance they might be willing to help with the SCCoA's restoration of a All Wheel Drive Prototype Super Coupe which was donated to the club?

As far as the car you bought....sounds nice. I have 3:27's in my 5 speed and I am looking at going back to 3:08's. Even with 3:27's first gear is pretty much useless. Can't even imagine what 4:10's would be like.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I do attend the Blairsville campus, but unfortunately out of everyone I have talked to very few know anything about Super Coupes. But, it's a large campus so there is still hope. As to the courses I am/have taken they are: Trim and Upholstery, Collision repair, Refinishing (starting this next week), and I plan to add: Street Rod and Chassis Fab. /High performance engines. There is a possibility that they would be willing to help out with the restoration, when I return to school I’ll get all the information I can regarding this. Yeah the 4.10's are pretty much useless on the street, but they are a whole lotta fun.:D I am considering other gearing then the 3.55's that I have, and since you say with the 3.27's first is still useless, I probably will go with something like the 3.08's. I see that you’re from Beaver Falls, that’s right in my neck of the woods; I am originally from Chester WV, just moved to Ohio.

Welcome to the club! It's good to another member in the area I'm just across the border from Youngstown in Pa. Keep an eye on the boards we're looking into a local chapter we have 10-20 SC'ers that get together around the area. Dan

welcome to the area. i work about 15 miles away in indiana, pa. i have a few mn12 cars. my main one though is undergoing a 5.0 engine swap and retaining my 5 speed. here's a link. paint is my big hold up at the moment. i already bought it and all the supplies. i'm just a little leary to tackle it with the weather and lack of experience.

also a friend of mine said that will work on peoples cars if they buy the materials so i was actually going to look into wyotech to see if they would be interested in painting my car. any idea if they would do this or not?

Thanks for the welcome, i'm up in indiana all the time. a couple of my friends have mentioned a seeing a few sc's around the area but i haven't been able to find any on my little excursions around town. right down my car is down for a few weeks, so that sucks for me cuz the weather is finally starting to perk up. wyotech will do work on cars, but not entire paint jobs, atleast as far as i know they won't. you might however be able to work something out with someone there such as an instructor, i just got out of refinishing and we were only aloud to bring in personal projects if they were small enough to carry. your swap definately sounds promising, i was considering buying another car to do just that (great minds must think alike haha).
