Can you use another muffler instead of a resonater?

Hey everybody,

I was on E-bay today looking at Borla mufflers, and I noticed a Borla 3-inch inlet, dual 2.5 inch outlets muffler. It says it's reversible, and I was wondering if I could use it instead of a magnaflow resonater. I always like how Borla exhaust souns, so if this works I'll probably buy all Borla mufflers. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, you can use that muffler in place of an resonator. No problem!!

Yes, especially the borla

Borla is a resonated muffler so they are an excellent candidate. Also, many of the so called resonators (and I really don't want a flame war here, trust me I've researched it) sold are actually just mufflers.

I have the parts (uninstalled because of my medical problems, but sitting in my living room) for my exhaust and will be running 3 mufflers.

Yup, it's a perfect fit.

In my old system I had a dual 2 1/4" inlet single 3" outlet Flowmaster 50 Series muffler. The new system has a dual 2 1/4" inlet dual 2 1/4" outlet version of the same muffler with the tips 'blown up' to fit the 2 1/2" pipes.

Later,
Steve
