Whats up fellas. My first car was a red 93 SC with 65,000 miles on it loaded to the max with black leather at the age of 16. I am now 26 and have an 04' Ram Hemi Sport, and an 89' mustang gt. I had bought a vortech supercharger for the mustang but I blew the engine after a few thousand miles. During the rebuilding stage of the engine the super charger got stolen from my garage. Now I am debating on a $3,500 crate motor for the stang or another Thunderbird SC. The SC I had when I was 18 the engine went in it after about 15,000 miles and I heard from a bunch of people that the heads are junk that ford put in them. I don't know, all I know is that was my first true love and my wife now had loved the car and even my parents loved driving it. I am asking you guys for help on my decision. Have you had problems with engine alot or not? Look forward in hearing your responses!!!

Get a 94/95 SC Great driver all around. Easy to make it into a quick everyday car. I myself have a crudload of other cars including a mustang and the SC by far is my favorite one.

Look for a nice 94-95 and call it a day. I say 94-95 because overall it sa much more comfortable and refined car then the earlier SC's looks aside.

As far as the stang is concerned. Fix it and sell it!

They are hard to stray from. I too had a loaded mint 93SC with 57K on it, and regret ever letting go of it. At one time me and the wife had 3 MN12 Thunderbirds in the driveway. I have had sevaral other MN12's and just recently had to get another SC. It was cheap and needs lots of work, but as long as I never have to rely on it for my daily driver, its all good. :)

LOL i had been without one for 3 YEARS. then i got a 90 base 302 car and made a hot rod out of it. i put a supercoupe suspension under it, i put a supercoupe steering wheel and other stuff on it. it still wasnt a supercoupe though, so i tore it apart to make ANOTHER supercoupe run again (needed the trans) so, here i go again!!!!!!!! while i was taking the blower/ic/etc off for porting/cleaning the other day, i was thinking "damn, so this is why i said id never have a supercoupe again. BUT, this time i have a friend with a lift, who can build AOD's, so im freaki n' SET. i love my SC's:) :) :) :)

The first time I did spark plugs and wires on the 93 SC I said "NEVER AGAIN" Now im not only doing that stuff, but pulling the balancer and changing motor mounts. I do want to have one with a 5.0 though. I wont mess up an anniversary for that project, but someday want one. Total reliability, V8 sounds, :) and cheap gas might be worth a few ponies lost.
