supercharger snout

I believe the coupler is bad on the supercharger on my '90 S/C. I have seen many kits available to rebuild the snout- bearings, seals & couplers. Is it possible to remove the snout without removing the complete charger or intake?

I think the supercharger nose bolts behind the thermostat housing are not accessible. Also the fuel rail is in the way. So you will need to pull the whole supercharger to fix it. The hardest part is if you have EGR, otherwise you just unbolt the SC top and upper tube together, remove the intake hose and belts, remove vacuum lines, and three SC mounting bolts to remove the SC.

I believe '90 automatics are non-EGR, 5spds have EGR. Didn't George D do a chart on this somewhere?

By the way, go ahead and pull the blower. If you don't, the oil that drips out of it onto your intake will stink SO BAD you'll wanna PAY someone to tow the car away!
