Do ya'll use a solid lifter for degree'n the cam?

Is the solid lifter really necessary, and the dil indicator goes on the rim of the lifter, right?

Does a 302 solid lifter fit in our lifter bores?

just use the stock roller, just be carefull to put the dial indicator on the rim of the lifter . Even if you placed it in the center of the lifter (where the pushrod goes), there is not enough force on the plunger to cause an inaccurate reading.
 
I just thought about it, and I guess one could fill in a spare lifter with epoxy, and sand it flat, and then you'd be all set, but if you can get the dial indicator to travel the full lift on the rim of the lifter, the measurement woudl prolly be more accurate anyways....


Fast, you got any pointers on degree'n this particuylar cam? I have a video of the comp cams degree'n video somewhere, I plan on watching it again...

Did you degree it in with the head on and correct valvetrain geometry setup? Or can it be done before the head is installed?
