Heads Pulled in Junkyard, no SC stamped?

I found a white 90 SC in the junkyard; I went and grabbed the heads off it. Well the heads don't have the SC stamped on them like my other ones do. My question is, are there SC heads that didn't get stamped, these look just like my other ones?

BTW, anyone close to Denver this 90 SC has a tranny and block in it still 5 SPD, I'd grab it but really have no time

All anwsers point to no.

I would look at the water passages on the heads.
The SC heads have fewer water passages than the N/A version.

Do the coolant ports look like this?



Or like this?



If they look like the first one, those are NA heads. If they look like the second pic, those are either SC or late model NA heads.

They look like the first one. Holy cow, this block had the SC stamped on it but the NA heads were bolted on, thank goodness they had a sale on the heads, $9.99 each. Well ~~~~~, I just wasted my time on some na heads. I should have known, never will I be fooled by the SC block and na heads again!!!

LOL, no wonder it was in the junkyard, had the SC stamp on the block and bumper & horn, always look for the SC stamp before pulling heads was the lesson here
