Is this on a mustang????
Is your engine internally balanced???
I've heard of breaking the balancer, but not the pully comming off the balancer...
I do have one, does 25 shipped sound good?

This is on a Mustang, mustang balancer. Supercoupe Pulley setup.
We started at 75.... then got an offer for 25... and now 20...
who can beat 20?
Going once...

Maybe my balancer is shot, how can you tell by looking at it if the rubber is worn? Weird, very weird. To snap hardened steel bolts... something has to be wrong!
I'm running a completely stock bottom end, no modifications.

In the Ford shop manual it says that the balance and pully are a balanced set and if the pulley is removed from balancer that it must go back on in the same manor it was before or you will break the damper on the crank and engine will shut off.I saw a crank bolt snap on one because the damper wasn't replaced in the same manor it came apart.Major headache. Also make sure your water pump bearings are tight this will also cause damper problems, they are only aluminum on the crank.

I'm running a SC crank pulley on my stock N/A Harmonic Balancer.
All is well so far.

I clearly see that the reason all 4 bolts snapped is because I used the Supercoupe pulley, and did not take the balancing into account. There is most definately a counterweight on the pulley(can't miss it).
So what do I do?! The HB is balanced for my engine, I cannot use a SC Balancer. I have to use the Supercoupe Pulley. How do I make the pulley work with the mustang balancer? Do I take the Stang Balancer/Pulley to a machine shop? Would that then throw the balance off?
Roadhog,
I drove over a thousand miles before this happened. Maybe you should check into it?
Engine will shut off? I doubt that!

On My Sc If The Balancer Broke The Vains On It Would Move Away From Cranksensor And Engine Would Shut Down Because It Lost The Signal To The Pcm For Timing.why In The World Would You Want To Use A Mustng Balancer Or Pulley In The First Place?sc Engines Are Not The Same As A Mustangs.pulley And Damper Are A Matched Set And Must Be Used Together.if I Was You I Would Get Another Damper And Pully For An Sc And Let It Alone.

the pulley is offset with the holes you must line up in the right way ..can only fit one way or it will be off center!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not using a Supercoupe Engine, only the blower/pulley assembly. My engine is externally balanced and requires the Mustang balancer.
