So they pulled the 3.8 and dropped in a Cobra motor. Very clean job it seems. At least they kept the SC shell so it looks really nice. Shame. Would have been awsome to see what they would have done with the 3.8.

Clearly nice work though.

Slick ride.
I guess they are calling it an SVT bird cause it has a Cobra motor in it???
I think 97 was the only legitimate year that a few were put together???

Dennis,

From what I've heard...she is definitely not hot.

David

PS: I think they did a really nice job on that turbo system with everything except the FMIC.

While I was working for Roush back in 1992, I saw a MN12 T-bird with the 4.6 DOCH motor in it. It was tucked away in a back room. I think it was left over from when they were using it as a mule to develop the Mark VIII. They built a few of them but they would never sell any of them to the public.

I dont know how many of the SVT birds there were before the current cobra motor design. But four were built in 1998 (yes 98) and two have been crushed. I have only seen one snippit of a red one but not the other.

Dan, you worked for ROUSCH?

Chris,

Yes, I was a mechanic for Roush back in 92 for about a year. I worked out of the Allen park facility which is right next door to Ford SVT. The SVT engineers would always bring over cool stuff to work on.
