Hey guys, I have a source here locally on oil filter relocation kits for our cars. They're made out of billet 6061 with 3/8 NPT fittings and will include all of the hose necessary. If you want, I can probably get a deal on oil coolers as well if you want to put one in while relocating the filter.

These won't be available for at least a week or two. I need to sell about 10 of them to get the price about $100. The price will be determined in the next week. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer.

For those that are truly interested, please let me know. I am not selling these right now, and will put a thread where needed when I do.

I'm interested. Where are people relocating the filter to? Near the battery? I am installing a sandwich type oil cooler at this time as well so I am trying to visualize how the setup would look.

3/8" NPT (6-AN) would be about right for a stock SC engine, but I'd really recommend 1/2" NPT (8-AN) for anything over 300 flywheel hp. Also, I believe that Permacool already makes a block adapter for the 3.8L engine with the 1/2" NPT ports (Summit Part# PRM-111). I know that Permacool makes the oil filter bracket with 1/2" NPT ports for a FL1A filter (Summit Part# PRM-1791), as that is what I have on my DOHC 90 XR7.

Also, I would highly recommend that braided stainless lines are used. The last thing you want is a rubber hose to burst or slip off a fitting. By the time you realize what happened, you'll have spun a bearing or worse.

After looking up the prices on Summit, you could make this kit for less than $100 using braided stainless 8-AN lines and fittings for the whole thing.

You should be able to move to almost anywhere under the hood you want. There is an adapter that goes where you oil filter normally would, with two hoses that go to the remote mount adapter where you would screw your filter to.

The adapters will be made out of 100% CNC milled 6061 T6 aluminum. The hoses are 1/2" ID rated for over 250psi at 240*F with fittings being brass barbed fittings. Clamps incuded as well.

We are not using braided lines as they are overkill for the application. Oil pressures will never exceed that needed to push the hoses off the fittings. Also, we are not just buying previously made parts and making kits. These kits are being made. When I said approx $100, that is canadian funds.

I should have pictures of the finished pieces for sunday or monday afternoon. At that time, I will also know more info about final prices.

Sorry for the wait guys...the machining fell a little behind due to some slight medical problems with the machinist. I'll have pics tomorrow. They are looking good though.

The reason for using braided lines is not because of the oil pressure, it's to insure the hose doesn't get a hole rubbed thru and it's much less likely to get kinked during installation.

Sorry, I'm out. I needed this sooner than later. Looks like you have a good product offering though.
