I have a '91 RT Stealth five speed for trade. It had another motor put in it before I bought it- so i am not sure about the mileage. The car itself has 209k on it. The paint is new and is Galaxy Pearl White and has a NACA duct from a viper integrated into the hood. The car has 18" SSC chrome wheels with new tires and OZ cap covers. A new Pioneer CD/Tape deck, nitrous kit (75 wet shot) never hooked up, and SAFC. The car is in pretty good shape overall and uses no oil. It does have a slow leak with the clutch fluid (needs to be filled up about once every two weeks if driven everyday. The 60K was just done with timing belts, tensioners, water pump, and AC pulleys. Trying to post the pictures or a link to them anyway. I am about thirty minutes away from Roanoke. Martinsville for those of you that know about VA.

What exactly are you looking for? I'm interested.

is it the turbo AWD? or just the normal R/T?

Normal RT front wheel drive, I am interested in anything but an auto SC. The car doesn't have to be perfect, as long as there are no major flaws.

I'm really interested. I'm actually gonna be in Martinsville at the beginning of April for the race. Not sure if you'd be interested in my 92 5 speed...it's in great shape and has a few mods.

Actually I was going to say that I was going to be tied up until late March with college and everything else, so the beginning of April sounds good for me. I have another car that I can drive for the time being so there would be little in the way of mileage on the Stealth between here and there. Do you have any pics of the car? What mods are on the SC? My Stealth has a cold air intake only. My email is Paitsel70@Hotmail.com for anyone interested.

I do have a few pics of it, but they're when I first got it in Sept. and it's really dirty in the pics. I'll get it cleaned up sometime this week and take a few pics...doubt it'll be this weekend since it's gonna snow. The paint is twillight blue (dark metallic blue), and the only thing wrong with the exterior is the front bumper has a messed up spot on it (cracked), and the rear bumper paint is fading. Other than a few dings it's in good shape. Interior is grey with the relatively rare leather/tweed split. The dash has a split and the driver side bolster has a quarter-sized worn spot on it. Otherwise the interior is perfect. I replaced the head gaskets 5000 miles ago with Felpro's and ARP studs. Also has a new PS pump and radiator. Only mods done to it so far is a 5% pulley and 3.27's. It's a real 5-speed car (not swapped in) and shifts smoothly.

Sounds good, get some pics up when ever you can, we are waiting out the snow here too. I imagine that you are getting the worse end of it compared to us.

How many miles are on the car?

The speedometer shows 155k-ish. Like I said, the engine only has about 5000 miles since the head gaskets were done, and the tranny was supposed to have been rebuilt earlier this year.

Sounds good, I missed that about the engine in the previous post. How much snow did you guys end up with? We had about 3.5 inches here.

End up with? Haha...it's still coming down hard. We've already got about 3-4", and it's supposed to snow through the night and in the morning I think. I think they're calling for 8-12".

Same here, but its started to melt as it hits the road now. I think that its warming up some.

we were supposed to get snow here in ohio, but it never happened, so w/e, we always get the short end of the stick here-i love snow...well, let me rephraze that, if its gonna be cold, at least let there be snow on the ground, lol

The normal R/T's are the 3.0 DOHC correct? Just want to make sure. Also how is the tranny, I've read the TT trannies are weak, not sure on the n/a versions. The gauges on the A-pillar, which are they, and is that some kind of fuel management in the dash?
Also...would you happen to have any more pics? Like of the interior or engine? I've been in a VR4...but I don't remember much about the inside of it.

DOHC 3.0 222hp-180ish torque, the tranny is the same as the turbo DSMs. They are fairly strong, up until 450ish hp. The TT tranny is not really the problem, the problem is really the transfer case that delivers power to the rear wheels where they are AWD. To launch an AWD, they rev to 5000 rpm and slip out the clutch which is where the transfer case gets abused. That is a SAFC air/fuel controller, it's needed for forced induction, so if you are going to do the TT swap, this is needed. When things thaw out, I can get some pics of the engine and interior. The engine bay is a greasy mess where the mechanic did the tuneup on it and for some reason it wont come clean-I think it has something to do with the temp outside. The interior is identical to the TT you were in except where there is a boost gauge in the third hole, there is an alternator gauge for the NA. The gauge pod has an oil pressure gauge and an autometer pro comp or phantom nitrous gauge I never hooked up (hella expensive). The red switch you see is the activation switch for the nitrous to arm/disarm it. I have the wires run under the dash, but not run to anything. Everything nitrous related is somewhat hidden from a cops view. The nitrous gauge is the second one down so it cant be seen from the driver window and the activation switch is on the other side of the steering wheel away from the window. With a towel over the bottle, they couldn't tell about nitrous without searching the car since the windows were professionally tinted (legal in VA). The car actually runs better without the SAFC, until it gets heavily modded, its really just there for looks without the TT conversion. Since the cold air intake, the car doesn't have as much torque as it used to but has a higher top end. They usually top out around 155ish for a healthy DOHC. I've had the car for about a year and haven't done anything to it mechanically but oil changes, aside from what the mechanic did for the tune up. The only thing that it uses is clutch fluid from somewhere. The guy before me replaced everything clutch related and the leak just wasn't bad enough to try and chase it down. I usually have to fill it up every two weeks driving it everyday. I have a fairly simple weight reduction list that would put the car at 2900lbs, combined with a BPU TT engine, these cars are hell from a roll and can trap 120ish in the quarter and some have went 10's, but most will stay in the 12's due to traction problems. I am reluctant to get rid of the car, but when I am out of college I will have to travel long distances for work and the most comfortable car I ever rode in was my old SC Tbird.

Sounds good...cleared a lot up...thanks.
I know what you mean about the possibilities. There's an SL around here that is regularly deep in the 11's.

I guess that I may as well list the options that the car has. PS, PB, PDL, rear wiper, rear window and side mirror defroster, digital climate control, power seat with lumbar, anti-lock brakes-I think that's it. The paint code is Galaxy White Pearl. I think there were around 2200 made that year, aside from the red I think that was the best color for a first gen RT. It looks better close up when you can see the pearl. The paint is BASF with a Diamont clear coat, it was painted last summer. This paint is supposed to be extremely durable (expensive at least). Do you have a DV camera? If you are serious about the car, then I can get some tape of the car driving and better footage of the car overall. If I can find some kind of way to post it up I will, but since I am on dial-up, its probably better to just mail the tape if you can play it somehow.

Yeah, I'm serious about it. But I'm on 56k too, so it'd take me forever just to see it. I also don't have a DV camera, so that's out too. I've got spring break in March, and I had planned on taking my vacation then too at work. If it'd be ok, I could run down and check it out...cuz the more I hear the better it sounds.

Sounds fine to me, I could also take some video and put it on VHS tape and send it. I've been through a couple of bad internet trades, and this helps to make it easier to know exactly what you are getting since pics are too easy to hide stuff.

Just got the nitrous hooked up on the car today, I think that I will be keeping it now :D

That's cool. I was actually thinking that I was going to keep the SC. It's the best thing for me right now to keep what I know how to work on.

I'll chime in.
I had a 96 GMC Jimmy that I traded straight across for a 92 Dodge Stealth ES last November.
Always wanted a Stealth but cold never afford one when they were new.
So after I traded this guy , the VERY NEXT DAY, the Stealth starts to buck./surge a little between 45MPH-65MPH, but not bad.
5 days later I'm going to work and I can't even get the thing to go over 25mph.
So I park it in the garage for 4 weeks until have the money to have it looked at.
Had it towed ($100.00) to the shop where it sat for ANOTHER 7 weeks while the mechanic played guessing games on what it could be.
2 months (and $1500.00 later,), it STILL doesn't run any better than when I took it in!
Had the Water pump changed
Timing Belt
Tensioner
MAS Unit
O2 Sensor
Coils checked
Radiator Flush
New wires
New Plugs
Finally had it towed BACK home where it at in the garage ANOTHER 4 weeks.
Finally sold it for $1440.00 and picked up my 90 SC for $1350.00
A HARD lesson learned, but I think it turned out for the better!
This is my 3rd SC and I really do enjoy it.
Its the 1st 5 speed I've had but because it's a rural area out here, there s not alot of "stop-n-go" traffic to wear out your foot and clutch.
It is a beautiful looking Stealth though!;)

I think me and him both decided to keep our cars. I'm very happy with my SC now that I've ran it a few times at the track. Did a best of 15.12@93 today at the track, in stock form. That's with 18" street tires all around too and a 2.4 60'.
