My call out: KEN SEEGERS

I'm going to call out Neibert for a time trial pass. Maybe he can get by me without having to blow his head gasket this time. Wait, he still ran a quicker e.t. than I did on that run. :p :D

Who's running Street Stock this year? Better practice your reaction times at the local track, you have last year's treemaster running in your class. ;)

Well, I can't talk smack because I have my car in a bad position. I have the mods to go 12's, but not enough to keep up with the rest of the guys in Mod2. I may have to detune my car or just launch it in 2nd gear and move to Mod1.

I am king of Sandbag!!!!!

But who knows. I might get lucky, but yet not so lucky to have a car that's slow for its mods.

Thats just dumb. Anyone entering mod 1 is technically calling out everyone in mod 1.

Dave D vs Kevin L

It may be an unspoken fact, but when these two catch eyes in the stanging lane, we all know its on. My guess: people will drop everything theyre doing at the time when these two line up next to each other to see what happens.

Not my car, but someone I've helped. Nothing that's not totally legal in Mod 1. Car is full weight and will remain so. All I'm saying is that owning Mod 1 will mean being able to run consistent 13.20's and there will be a motley variety of ways to do so. I think the best challenge for Mod 1 is to find the most unique way of running the index. We will really be looking for the most surprising methods people come up with. It should be lots of fun.

Well stock M90 is definitely one way to go. If I do everything right, I'll even be running 13.20s on street tires.

The way things are looking right now is I probably wont have an SC at the event this year so I am not going to call anyone out. What it looks like is I am going to be at Heartland Park in Topeka, KS for The Tire Rack Solo National Championships 9/26/2006 - 9/29/2006. I'll probably just leave Topeka that night and drive straight to the Shootout. Talk about sleep deporvation (sp) tour. Maybe I'll see some of you guys on the road somewhere. We all know that Damon and Dave D can not exist in the same place at the same time. They are alter egos of the same person and therefor can never meet face to face.

As for callin anybody out or smack talkin.... hmmmmm... I doubt I have much room for smack talkin. Not even sure my car is or will be worthy of racing in the first place. BUT... I guess I got some time to change all that. Just need to come up with the $$$ to make it happen.

If I can get work off maybe I'll show up. It really isnt that easy for me though to get days off. Ask Paul how often he actually sees me at home.

Anyone want to rebuild my 4.6 Bird motor? :O) Dammed if I have the time..The SC will be on hold however untill the AR is back in my possesion. By then Dave will have the larger AR kit out and it just wont even be fun anymore:(.

And Dave and I had coexisted in the past...I believe at Carlisle he was avoiding being tboned in go carts.....If I recall correctly....Then again Fast Ed was doing the same.........But there is always a next time.....Always a next tiimmeeeee...........

Way to early for some of this smack talk. It's 8 months till it's time to put up or shut up. I really hope all of the talkers cars can make it come shoot out time. I have penciled the event in at this time. My car is apart right now, so I know better than to run my mouth. It will be back together for my frist event in April, but October is a long way off. I hope all of us can attend. I had a blast at the 04 event, and any excuse for me to go back home to Ohio works for me. Looking forward to running with the outlaw V8 guys. Like Coy and I said back in 04 at Norwalk, " we're here to run". Lets rock!!!!!!!!!

David N. hope you have the turbo car back and healthy, but you need to put a rollbar in it. I hated it too but it's worth it.

Pro street Rich, I really enjoyed meeting you in 04, I hope the big block car can make it this year.

Randy & Connie Baker, loved meeting and tipping a few drinks with you ex bikers! Hope you make it. Randy you are the best at lining a car up in the waterbox and the starting line!

Dave D. thanks for making the V8's welcome!

Hope to see you all there.

i think dan sly needs too have a windeshieid installation guy on hand at all times for the shoot out, or i shound stay home, every time i have gone hes lost a windeshield, but 04 shoot out i was stock 05 shootout was mod 1, and i have a few more rabbits too pull out of my hat for 06, so i hop i have more then one car to race this year, i hate to see every one i race this year brack soming, thats just on way to get 2 place. and i dont plan to miss this years event

Bill...I think that was directed towards Dan Sly, because he has broken his windsheild at the last two Shootouts, because he forgot to put the hood pins back in.

David

wow...i didnt know that about dan sly, since im pretty new around here, so it was to bill, maybe they should just go back to the traditional latch, and not have to worry about it eh? ;)

But see that would be to easy  :p :D

Actually with some aftermarket hoods, particulary the Cobra R hood, you have to do alot of work to make the factory latch work so most poeople just would rather not go to all the trouble and just put hood pins in instead.

It's hard to keep something like that a secret when you are at the shootout.
The first time it was on the trailer and I didn't know until I heard the hood smash the windshield and looked in the rearview mirror. Last year was just mindless. I had just changed the EEC file and wanted to see how it was running before I put it on the dyno so I hopped in and started down the road with my hoodpins in my pocket. My hood struts are broke off from the first time it happened so the hood stays down until you get going about 40 mph then SURPRISE!!!
My FMIC mount is in the place where the latch was. I just need Chris Walker to follow me around and remind me to put my hoodpins in or better yet, this year maybe I'll just keep my hood shut.

Well this week I am going to order my lightweight racing seats from Summit. Hope its warm at the shootout cause I keep looking at the heater and all that duct work, to pull or not to pull thats the question. Radio and speakers are comming out this weekend if its not to cold. I dont have all the big power you guys have so its serious weight reduction time. I may be going way out on a limb but I am seriously shooting to get into the 11s. Laughing gas here I come. If I make 300 on the motor and use 100 hp. of nitrous, with a car as light as mine is going to be 11.70? Is it wrong who cares! Am I normal? please!!

yank the heater!! if it gets cold get a 12 volt cigarette lighter heater. it doesn't matter how you get it fast. fast is fast.

Kevin, I hear you, People keep telling me this only weighs 10 pounds or that only weighs 15 lbs why bother. I guess my answer is it all adds up. I dont know how light I can get my car? The goal is to get into the 11 second bracket. I dont want to wreck the interior . If I do thih right then It should still look nice on the inside.:D

But make sure that you check up on the rules of what is required in your planned bracket or not. Dont wanna yank the heater to find out you ahve to have it in your class.

If you are going for a race car yank all you want. There is that fine line between what will I get for what I give up. At our weight and stock hp you may get a tenth for every 100lbs shed. The seats are a great way to reduce weight as they are heavy thats a good move. AC, Power steering, hood also can get you soem weight off as well as less drag on the motor and better airflow to radiator. Someone like Kevin probably knows exactly what youll lose for what you remove. Disconnecting the front sway bar should give you better weight transfer , removing it less weight and better weight transfer. I couldnt imagine doing that to my Sc..But I guess there is a potential to .5 seconds of your time if you strip it down. Speaking of which soem drag wheels would help greatly as well.

For what I've seen every 10lb's of rotating weight is about 100 pounds of static weight. Shoot for lighter rotating weight too.

Kevin , Tim blows enough hot air when he is talking about his SC Bird.
He do's not need a heater in his car. As long as he is talking & driving.
:p :D

The reason they call Chicago,Il. the WINDY CITY.
Is because Tim lives on the north-west side of Chicago.
The direction the wind comes from to hit the city.
Then you got Pro-Street Rich, he lives just up the road from Tim.
So now you know how Chicago got its nickname. :)

Steve,

Hope you can make it again (I know how bad it sucks to just watch everyone else race) ....BTW, I'm very impressed with how well your car runs. Sounds great too.

ha.. yehknow in my last bird the heatercore was shot, it hink.. or it could abeent he constant disappearing coolant ehh HG's... anyways, when my heat didnt work last winter when it was fre4ezing, I decided it was cheaper to buy a 2nd coat then to fix the heat...i looked everywhere for a 12v heater and everybody said they dont exist.. then the other day i saw some nice ones online.. man i wish I knew then it sucked driving to school in the mornings with a blanket on

DamonSlowpokeBaumann
02-15-2006, 11:46 AM
Well GOLLY MILLER..Now we know why your headgaskets went. You were probably low on antifreeze. When a heater core goes it generally leaks as in your car....When no heat comes out that means your probably low on fluid. Now if the fan for your heat didnt work..Now thats a different story .

Ok back to smack talking:O)
