I just bought some 3.73 gears and I'll be getting the clutch packs changed at the same time. Is there anything I should be looking for in terms of brand, model or something. I found these doing a quick search on ebay. Any help would be appreciated.:)

That auction says that the Trac-Lok kit is for 31 spline axles. SC's have 28 spline axles. You need a kit for 28 spline axles.

You could try Dan Newman on this forum. He's got the best prices of anybody!!!!!

You can do an friction-steel alternate stacking order and add a F-150 S-spring. Try searching for posts by me with details of the alternate stacking order...I don't remember what it is. If nothing turns up I can try looking later.

add a F-150 S-spring.
Does the F-150 S-spring provide more bias pressure? Where would you find the bias pressure specs for different S-springs?

I wasn't aware of that.

I got a pr. of rear UCA's from him about Nov. Mine were still on B/O, but he found me a pr. sitting on another dealers shelf.

Yeah Dan is an awesome guy .. I met him when I was visiting Oklahoma before he moved to North Carolina.
His website fordpartshq.com says the business is being restructured.

Jason also gives the hookup over at Town & Country, he is really good to work with also. I just ordered a bunch of Ford racing parts a couple weeks ago and they forgot to send me the new 2006 Catalog and so I called him and he had them sent next day shipping!! :D

Try Bill Evanoff at Supercoupeperformance.

I got the entire 8.8 rebuild kit from him. Has EVERYTHING that you need to completely rebuild the 8.8, bearings, shims, clutch packs, etc. The only thing I had to do was buy a new snout seal.

oh and by the way........with a new snout seal......BUY THE FORD ONE ONLY!!!!!

aftermarket snout seals don't allow the dust cover to rotate freely and you get a FALSE preload reading on the snout bearing!!

buyers beware!!!!!

Sorry, I don't have the specs on the spring, but is definitely provides more pressure. I just found the information about using the F-150 S-spring while researching the alternate stacking order over at the corral.

That's good information to file away for future use.
