I was wondering what is the best camshaft to go with. Through super coupe performance you can get a comp cam with RPM Operating Range: 1200-5800 RPM
Duration: Advertised Intake 259, Advertised Exhaust 271.@ .050" Intake 204,.050" Exhaust 216 Valve Lift: Intake .480, Exhaust .480 Lobe Separation Angle: 115 for a stage one cam or the comp cam stage two RPM Operating Range: 1500-6000 RPM Duration: Advertised Intake 265, Advertised Exhaust 281 @ .050" Intake 210, @ .050" Exhaust 226 Valve Lift: Intake .500, Exhaust .500 Lobe Separation Angle: 115. but then on magnum powers cite they recommend Cam: Intake Duration 210 / Exhaust 220 lift .493" LSA 112. What is the best cam and is there any other that would work better?

I have a cam in my 94 and it's specks are close to that of the stage one you looked at. The idle is just a hair rougher than stock and it realy wakes the car up at 3500+ If you are looking for one for street use the stage one will probaly work well for you.

There is no best cam...depends on your HP goals, your other mods, intended use of the car, emissions concerns, ect ect...

I have an 89 t-bird supercoupe with some engine modifications. I have an 70mm bbk throttle body, proted heads and intake manifold, kook shorty headers with down pipes, 2 1/2 exhaust, supercharger pulley, spec 6 puck racing clutch and 11.5lb flywheel, 3:55 rear end gears, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 38lb injectors, 75mm calibrated mass air flow sensor ,and 255lph fuel pump. And I was thinksing of going with the Magnum Powers lll supercharger with 85mm throttle body and plenum with raised blower top, and 42 or 50lb injectors. Shottin for the most horespower with out doing a bottom end. Which it appers about 400hp before needing a built bottom end.

I looked at the stage III list on MPs website which contained the cam you mentioned. The nicest thing I can say about that list is.....Buyer beware, those results are not typical

I'm on my 4th cam....I've learned the hard way that there is no one cam spec that works well in every car. This last time I asked Dave Dalke (XR7Dave) to spec out and provide me with a cam, specifically designed to work with my existing mods, planned mods and my intended use of the car. I am very happy with the results.

I'm not saying the other cams won't work, but why buy a generic grind and wonder how well it's going to work, or if your valve springs and pushroods are compatible, when you can get a custom grind and know if it's going to work for nearly the same price.

The next cam I'm going to try to use is something around 224/228 duration and .600 lift.

The 210/220, .520 lift cam is a popular selection and fully capable of 12's which has been proven several times. As David says though, not one single cam matches every SC.
