Well, after taking a break from hot rods and fun cars for a while I've decided to re-start the fire. I'm looking to get my hands on a cheap, reliable 5spd SC. Mostly only interested in 94-95, but I might consider some older ones. Nothing with over ~120k mi. Not interested in any autos, sorry! Anywho, I would really like to trade for what I've got and possibly cash depending on the car. If no trades I will just sell my car on ebay and hop into something.

Anywho...my car:

2000 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor (the real deal, not a look-a-like)
~106k mi.
4.6L v8 heavy duty police version engine, tranny, and rear end. This thing has skid plates throughout pretty much the whole underside!
This thing is FAST for a 4000lb car. I drive my dads grand marquis (same yr) and it is NOTHING compaired to this bad boy.
Tires are about 50-60% thread.
New brake pads, brake fluid, and machined rotors about 8k mi ago.
As many of you know, a common problem with the 4.6 fords is the coolant line that is attached to the intake, well i raplaced mine before it had a chance to crack with one that is metal coolant line instead of plastic.
It has the police spot light, four wig-wags up front, and the rear has flashers but they aren't hooked up. Spot light is AMAZINGLY bright, I love using it on the back roads on the way back from school, helps me see deer better.

All fluids were replaced at 90k mi (I mean ALL. engine, coolant, tranny, rear end, etc.)

It is a SUPER smooth ride, yet it handles better than most cars I have driven, these cops really got it made!

Known problems:
There is an idler pully that squeeks. My mechanic said it was no big deal so long as the noise doesn't bother me.
One of the side lights has busted plastic. I will replace before the car leaves.
Spare tire but no rim.

As far as cosmetics go, there are some dents and scratches as you would expect from such a car, plus i think some punk keyed it...not sure. Non the less most of it could be buffed out. Also, the lower front bumper (driver side) has some excessive wear (car is black and plastic under it is black so it is not very noticable) and there is a small crack in the front grill area due to a stupid bird... I will try and get most cosmetic stuff back up to par before taking pics.

Extras:

Pro Copper center console - this thing is INSANE. the BEST console ever for any car. massive amounts of room, HUGE cup holders, pleny of room for extra electonrics. I once had a computer in there, so that lets u know the size, lol.
Extra set of different style hubcaps
40-Channel CB radio with PA system - fun to mess with people :)
(May not go with the car, but I do have a nice bearcat scanner)
It currently has aftermarket radio but i will install factory upon sale.

This car really is great and they are incredibly reliable. Policeman around the states use and abuse these things for hundreds of thousands of miles. Luckily mine came from a university police station so it saw nothing more than stop and go traffic.

My father has a grand marquis that is basically the same car, just not as fast or as heavy duty and it currently has over 260k mi! all he has done is regular maintenence, nothing has ever been rebuilt. Like i said, these things last FOREVER.

Now, why am I selling this bad boy? I enjoy having the ability to tote lots, and i mean LOTS, of people around, and the trunk space is gigantic, but I just need something cheaper and a little more sporty (hence why i dont want another auto).

I assure you this car will astound you and it you really have to sit in it and drive to appreciate it.

So...I am asking 5,500 o.b.o. for the car, straight up. Or some sort of trade for a MANUAL supercoupe.

Ill try to get pics up as soon as I can.

Thanks!
Jonathan

Well the interceptor sounds nice! Where you located? I have a white 94, 5 spd. just under you 120K mark, leather interior, moonroof, and more. Let me know if you're interested at all. I live in western Massachusetts and have no idea where you're at. Let me know though. Thanks! e-mail me at hosmer79@yahoo.com

I'm located in Tuscaloosa, AL. Not to bad of a drive if you ask me, lol...then again I travel, a LOT. Anywho, I'm interested. Send some pics to jbburns@bama.ua.edu if you dont mind, or post on forums, whatever works for you. I'm curious about rust though. I've never had to worry about it because i've always been in south and have never bought a northern car. Anywho, just send me some info and we can talk. :)
