I bought this unit new from Alan over a year ago but had problems with the tranny i put in it and the clutches burnt. I'm buying another car with a ArtCarr unit in it and don't need this one. It basically is new because i never got the other tranny on the road. I took it out twice down the street and that was it.
I paid $375 for it and i do have the reciept that goes with it.
It's a 11" converter with a 2500 stall.
Looking for $215.00 shipped anywhere in the states..

Is there anymore details about this converter?
I am going to ask Dirty if this converter could be appropriate for my setup...
Is this a locking converter?
Thanks!

You can ask him more on the details of it because i don't remember anything other that it's and 11" nonlocking 2500 stall speed. I do know that he makes really good converters and used to sell them at SCP .
Other than that i'm not sure. If anyone on here has one of his they might be able to tell you.
Also i don't know if it will matter or not but it was for an AOD.

I got dibs if it is a non-locking unit, do you have te shaft that went with it? Or did this converter retain the stock shaft???
I was looking for a good deal on a non-locking converter a couple months ago when I busted my input shaft, but pretty much gave up.
I sent a PM to dirty, but if you can find anymore info from a prior email or something, that would be cool too!
I can do paypal funds transfer (ie no credit card fees) if ya want...
But I would like to get some specifics before completing the deal...
Thanks!!!

I wish i could help you with more info but i that's all i can remember.
I'm taking it out of the car this weekend and can ship it monday or tuesday if you want it. I looked at the reciept and here's the part number that's on it.
GMTSPF52.
Hope that helps. I didn't get anything else from him just the converter, but if you have an AOD i don't know why it wouldn't work but ask him just to make sure.
Thanks,
David

The part number tells all. This unit has a balloon plate to strengthen the front cover. It is an 11 inch converter using stock shafts with no direct drive. I suggest you bring the converter up when you bring the car so I can flush and inspect it to make sure it's not full of trash from the transmission.

If i don't have it sold i will do that.
I just don't know how much of anything could have gotten into it because it was never driven that's what pisses me off but i don't know these like you do...:) .
How much snow are you getting up there today?

I was meaning even if you have it sold you should bring it up and let me clean and inspect it. We got a ground cover today nothing major. I have a machine that can clean that converter out.

I'll cover the cost for dirty to clean it out, if you guys are local to each other, and can get it to dirty soon. I really need that converter...
So dirty, are you back in a converter shop again?
Thanks!

At the time I still can't build converters I am limited on what I can do. I have a buddy who I get some top notch billet converters from and I have a few other people I trust to do other things for me. I started collecting what I need to run a shop here ,but at the time I am still a ways off. The converter flusher I have here at home.

Well I've got access to a large solvent prts washer, and I've used it to flush the TCs form the two trannies I built....
I was doing other stuff, so I let it fill, and emptied it and let it flow through for quite a while... Was this the OK thing to do, I don;t remeber who told me to do that...
Is what you got a "TC flusher?" Sounds funny don't it:D
Or are you talking about the same thing I did???

No I have a rotunda flusher it is good for flushing radiators and has a plate to mount that rotates the converter on. You hook air up to it and it agitates the solvent inside the converter. Then you finish it off with a little bit of transmission fluid to get all of the solvent out.

V8killr, let me know how you want the payment, so I can get it ot ya (paypal preffered...)!
I'll need it in the next few weeks cuz my motor is ready to go back in.
This is really the perfect converter for me, cuz I want to retain the 2 piece shaft cuz I already bought a hardend precision industires inner shaft from Baumann... They claimed that I couldn't break it...

Just curious, is this the lowest stall available in a non-locking converter?
I still run 3.27s, so I may have to use this excuse to go with 3:55s...

If you are still planning on dropping your car off just bring it with you. I'm fairly confident it will check out fine I just am afraid it could be contaminated which could hurt a good transmission. I have no problem shipping it for you thats not a big deal. This is the lowest stall 11 inch I built for these. With 3.27 gears you should be fine. I would suggest a massive cooler and it would be beneficial to use the 4r gearset as well so that it doesn't fall below stall speed in small town traffic at very low speeds, but it will be ok for that. If you find it falling below stall speed at like 20mph in small town traffic or subdivisions or something you may want to manually shift it down. I'm not looking to make anything on flushing it figure $10 to cover solvent and fluid

Allen we are still on, on my car i just need to get time and the weather needs to be alittle better than these last couple weekends down here. I'm used to driving in the snow and ice but there's a big a$$ hill about a mile long and as is steep as he(( that i have to go up to get to your house and they don't salt shi* around here...
Allen if that is cool with you i will ship it to you and you can check it and ship it to him. That way he can get his car back together alot quicker.
If this is ok with everyone let me know and i will PM you my pay-pal account info and you can send it there.
