Is anyone using the Morana head gaskets? I was planning on doing a couple of rebuilds and would rather not have to do them again in 60,000 miles.I don't like the factory or Felpro type, the metal gaskets seem to be a better construction.
What metal? The Felpro gaskets are MultiLayer Steel with a composite cover.
The pictures of the ones on Morana's site look like the Felpro MLS Permatorque gasket.
Note when I say felpro, I don't mean the felpro replacements for our motor. Most folks are using the Felpro MLS gasket for the 1997+ Ford F150 4.2 motor.
Do you have any part #'s handy? Do you have to do any mods to the gaskets or engine surfaces? The engines I will be rebuilding do not have blown head gaskets. I would rather replace the gaskets before they do blow.
I've yet to see specific RA recommendations for the perma-torque gaskets. The problem being Felpro says they are stock replacement and will work with stock surfaces. Our stock surface isn't the same a 97+ stock surfaces so the deck really should be made better.
