Camshaft

I was wondering if anyone had an early sc engine torn down that they could send me some pictures of the front of the camshaft. I was wondering if the gears to drive the cam sensor were seperate from the cam or machined into it. Thanks.

I dont know if this is exactly what you need or not but i gave it a shot this is of my 89 SC rebuild in progress

Thanks, it looks like the gear is seperate. I just got a sc that would not run and I found that the timing had jumped on the cam sensor because the gear teeth on the cam were chewed up. I think there was a problem with the oil pump.

Yes, the gear is seperate so you can just change the gear. Maybe something jammed in the oil pump? If so you probably need a new or replacement timing cover.
