Hello everyone.

I just got a 1990 SC. I have always loved the mn12 but never found the right time or deal to get one before. (I'm really cheap) lol.
I was al set to buy a plain old v6 auto for $300. but then I found the red SC for $500 how could I resist. It even has a 5 speed!

Of course the heads are blown off. I guess the guys buddy tried to fix it. His fix lasted 2 whole days. I am expecting the worst so I bought some heads on ebay. Hope to have some time to work on her soon.

I have been lurking for a week or so and am really impressed with the mature content. Way different than the Mustang boards!

I have read about 200 pages of the tech stuff and have only scratched the surface. What a fantastic resource.

I'm more than sure if the car only lasted a couple days then he didn't have the heads resurfaced and/or used stock head bolts. Make sure that you have the heads surfaced and inspected at a machine shop. I would also highly recommend running ARP head studs, too.

You can bet that the new heads i bought will get lots of attention, after a pressure test for cracks. In fact can you point me to any head porting articles for the SC?

I found the stud tip among lots of other great info right here on SCCoA!
