Classic and sporty, this Super Coupe has a 3.8L Supercharged V6. The car is a 7 out of 10, but needs a new master brake cylinder/HCU before it can be driven. The car was a silver metallic exterior and a black interior. The car has 100,564 miles on the original entine.

I purchased this car new in 1989 and the car has only lived on the west coast. The car has never been in an accident. The only flaw with the exterior is a small dent on the RHS rear quarter panel. There is sun damage to the rear interior deck and the side lumber support of the driver's seat is worn through.

I have most of the original paperwork and maintenance records, as well as the sales brochure for the car.

Some other features of note include fold down rear seats, power adjustable passenger seat, keyless entry, 4 wheel disk brakes with anti-lock, and a traction lok axle. Just about the only option the car does not have is a moonroof.

The master cylinder/HCU leaks brake fluid and needs to be replaced to make the car drivable.

Outside of the master cylinder problem and the other noted problems, here are the other areas that need attention. 1) the console lid is broken off. 2) the power antenna is broken and 3) the battery needs recharging/replacing.

My asking price is $1,500 or best reasonable offer. If you have any questions, please call me at 858-485-6485.

Thanks for looking.

Bruce

You have no idea how I was that car was closer to the Midwest! Sounds like a great car and price....just a long way from the Chicago area. How close to the Airport are you? If we made a deal I could fly in and drive home if it is safe for highway/extended driving.

Can you get pics of the quater panel? Also, how bad is the master cylinder leak and where specifically is it coming from? Other than that would the car make it on a 1000mile trip?

Thanks,
Chris

I live about 30 miles north of the San Diego airport. Outside of the notes master cylinder problem, the car is safe for driving. My wife was driving it to and from work (about 40) miles per day before the master cylinder went out.

Hi Chris,

Sorry for the late response. Outside of the master cylinder leak (not sure exactly where it leaks), which absolutely needs to be fixed before any trip of more than a few miles, the car is 100% roadworthy and I can not foresee any problem with a 1000 mile trip. I have added a couple of pictures to the website with a picture of the right read quater panel. The taillight is the original, so my guess is that somebody bumped into it in a parking lot.

 ~"Hey, quick question - Any place close by we can trust to fix the MasterCyl so I could drive it home? Oh, and any idea on the cost of the repair? Thanks!"

If it's a pressure switch I can hook you up cheap. You can pull the MC in the driveway but you'll need to bleed the brakes after the repair. The pressure switch is located just above and forward of the black ABS pump. It's kinda hard to see but you may be able to look and see if that's what's leaking.

Yes, I bought this vehicle a couple weeks ago and it is indeed a beauty. After getting an ABS master from fordpowerplus (SCCoA member) and installing it in the driveway last Thursday she is now game ready. Now for the major tune-up and various cosmetics to get it to primo status...this is going to be a fun summer. Thank you Bruce and thank you SCCoA members for the wealth of information contained in these threads. See you down the road. :D

Peace in large doses...Dan

No sir ..saw it on Auto Traders web site and went to look at it soon afterwards. Gotta admit it was love at first sight and I bought it without ever driving her. Glad I did too, I believe it's gonna be a beautiful marriage..Anyone know a top notch SC mechanic in San Diego? Would like to meet him and develope professional relationship together working towards the cause. Tin-Knocker105 where do you live bud? I'm in P.B. Later, Dan
