Nathan,
We used to live there in 92-93.
We lived down near Speedway and Harrison. It was a quick jump from there to Mt. Lemon. It's funny, I supprized that I forgot the name of that hill.
When I was riding it the road was in need of repair from the Tucson side up to the ski lift. Not to mention all the folks parked on the side of the road. After you got pass the ski lift it was nice. I played on a lot of roads back in there.
Other than that the rest of the Tucson area was flat and boring to me.
I like riding in the summer time in AZ. Even when it's a 110 it really does not feel like it after you get used to it. It's a dry heat,unlike Ca.
I have ridden since I was able to walk and have done some track days here.
I have seen alot of folks go down and not have there gear on. Some live and some die. It's good that you wear you gear,sounds like you already had a use for it. I really don't try to twisit the throttle to much on the open HWY, but than again I'm no angle either. I try to pick those times when I think it's some what safe......ok,blah,blah,blah.....keep the rubber side down.
Here some pic's from a couple of weeks ago with a small group of folks;
