Anybody know anything about these alarms?

I want to discard the damn thing......

Can I just cut the wires to the control module to get rid of it?

WHY? Viper Security systems are pretty much bullet proof. I've been selling and installing them for over 15 years. But, if you really want to remove it, you can simply unplug the brain, and remove it. BTW do you know what model it is?

Not yet....

I need to get under the dash to have a look see....

It will come on with a clicking sound and the flashing flashers.....

I diconected the horn to keep it quite while I was working on it.....

The key fob doesn't seem to do anything to it....

I just don't need an alarm....

Someone installed a viper in mine, real bad hack job. Was a nice alarm, had the vibration detector and everything, but it was already not working when I got the car. I'm not patient with wiring so I had my roommate trace wires and pull it out. Now I don't have hi-beams or cruise control, haven't bothered to track it down yet. Not sure if they are related but I think i lost them right after he pulled it.

i had a Viper 1000 and it was the biggest turd alarm ive ever owned. Sensitivy all the way up, cars driving down the street were setting the alarm off. Only good thing about the Viper was it saying "protected by viper stand back"

Switched to a Magicar FAI-300 and havr never been happier.
