I recently purchased a 1990 supercoupe and I absolutly love it!
My only problem is with the stock JBL radio. When I turn it on, all I get from the radio is static, it won't recognise any stations. Also, when I put a tape in it plays one side for around 5 seconds, swaps to the second side, does the same thing, then spits it back out at me. I can't figure out what is wrong with the stupid thing!!! Has anyone had this problem?
Also, could someone tell me how easy it is to swap out the stock radio for a new deck because I've heard all sorts of bad stories about changing it.
If someone could help me with any of this I would really appreciate it!!
Thanks!!!

Do you have the optional CD player down below or just the cassette deck? If you just have the cassette player, then installing an after market deck is easy. All you need is the adapter harness any good audio shop sells. If you have the optional factory CD unit as well, it becomes more difficult. Do a search in the audio thread, there should be others that have swapped out the premium sound for an after market.

I might just take you up on that offer thanks:D
One more question, I heard that to put in a new deck all the speakers had to be rewired and such ...or something along those lines... is that true?

Just wanted to let you know I havent tried the cassette player out yet. If mine doesnt work I know where I might be able to get one for you. I also believe that SHO's shared the same cassette player. As far as changing speaker plugs Im unsure. Im not much of an audio man.

The new harness/fitkit will interface with the current speaker wires/plug, so you're set.
