hey everyone, i'm probably the newest person on here by far, so i wanted to say hello and like i am sure all of you were once, im new to the SC family and have no clue where to start with my car. any advice would be greatly appreciated just keep in mind that im on a limited budget lol. i bought this 90 for right at 700 needing a balancer which seems to be a big issue from what i have seen with sc's. i already have the balancer and a 10% pulley for it. i just dont know the cheap upgrades, the good ones, where to start, where to look, you all know the story. thanks
The cheapest and easiest first step is to remove the air silencer, and install a K&N air filter. The air silencer resides beneath the air cleaner box. You must remover the RH front wheel, and drop the inner fender liner for access. Remove the three nuts inside the air cleaner box that attach it through the inner fender to the air silencer. Then remove the air silencer from the bottom. You then need to buy 3 new bolts to replace the studs on the air silencer so you can bolt your air cleaner box back down. It'll be self-evident when you get into it. The K&N you can pick up at any parts store. I think I paid around $35.00 for mine. That's around 10hp for one hours' work and $40.00.

Not really any one place to point you, except read read read.
XR7 Dave has a post on his route to 400+ rwhp and an excellent winterization guide. Others have posted very step by step FAQs to changing parts.

Oh, and find your area's recommended mechanic. You'll need him ;)
Edit: Open the exhaust before you put the 10% on, most will say.
