I need......

I need the plastic trim piece and nut that holds the power antenna to the fender. I know this is a dumb peice but it ot lost when I had the car painted. The antenna is there but not the black platic pice and the nut to hold it down. The antenna just kinda flops around now without it.

Better yet, I would like to get rid of the power antenna and go with a non-power one in its place. Is the trim piece the same? In other word, can I install a "hard" antenna in the place of the powered unit and the hole be covered? Anyone done this before? Any help is appreciated in advance!

Well I don't have an antenna for you but I can answer your question. Yes you can switch to a non-power antenna. the black molding is the same for a power or non-power one. My 93 had a plastic trimmed piece and my 89 has a steel one. I ended up putting a power antenna in place of the non-power one for my 89. I think they look better. As far as the antenna wire, mine hooked right up no problem when I switched

Thanks for the info! I think I would rather just go to a non-power antenna. One less thing to worry about. The motor is fried on the one in the car currently.

Now, if anyone has the parts I need from a parts car, ect. I am willing to pay for it!
