Check Gauge light when cranking.

I know that this tells you that either your crank or cam censor is not working, but will it come on if the engine is out of time? My tach is bouncing with the cranking, and I'm getting spark, so the crank censor is good. I just installed a cam and am having trouble setting the timing, atleast that is what I think. If not, does anything other than a low fuel cause this? Thanks for the info!

check gauges light has nothing to do with the crank sensor or cam sensor.... thats the upshift light to the left of the check gauge light... check gauge is caused by


1. overheating
2. low fuel
3. low oil pressure

hmmm... That would explain alot .
