I watched Corky Romano tonight and spotted a sweet black Supercoupe with custom wheels on it. They nearly crashed it (those bastards) but you only see if for about 2-3 seconds.

I remember seeing that! I was on a double date/first date and the instant it flashed onto the screen my buddy reached across our girls and slapped me on the shoulder and grinned. My date was like, "what was that about?" I just grinned :)

Cool, I guess I'll have to go rent it on DVD and do a screen capture and check out the SC. Can you see the tail lights?

OK maybe I'm lost, but who is Corkey Romano? Is that the kid from "Life goes on"? How did he ever get a license? LOL

I just found the truth about anothe SC in a movie rumor. Someone posted a while back that there was an anniversary edition in What Dreams may come in the tunnel/car crash scene.
I got the DVD and played in slo mo through that scene. First of all someone had very good eyes, the car is only in about 6 frames, but it is not an SC.
The wheels, taillights, bumper, etc etc are wrong. As near as I can tell it is one of those '88 or so Cavalier Z-24's with the black and gray two tone paint like the anniversary cars had.

You can not see the tail lights. All you see is the front and right side of it. You can easily make out that it's an SC due to the GFX but the wheels are kinda hard to make out (even with DVD) due to the speed they are going.

if anyones seen the movie hackers... theres a possible sc in that one... right after they use the computer to change the lights all to green and the 3 cars crash, theres a silver tbird that is either an sc or a 92-93 lx. you really cant tell because all you see is the front end and the top half of the rear 1/4 panal as the car drives away. im thinking its an lx cause the color is more of a silver than titanium but im not sure.

there's a silver one in 'gone in 60 seconds'.. the cops use it when they're chasing the shelby. you only see it for a few seconds though.

ok, the cops don't use it, but it's in the scene when the cops first start chasing the shelby. and it's not an SC either, so shoot me :) it's a 94/95 lx.

Boy, you guys are sharp. Reminds me of the old days when I would spot a shelby or boss in a movie. Keep up the good work. I'll try to add these to the list on the Registry.

TV show.
I don't watch this show but I was channel surfing and came across Nash Bridges. They where haulin azz in his green Hemi Cuda and trying to pass a truck almost did a head on with a silver SC. Who knows what episode it was but I thought Id mention it anyways. :)

I was watching a live news coverage of a bank robbery in Indiana a few months ago and it was showing the swat team surrounding the building. A guy pulls up in a titanium SC all tinted out identical to my car, and gets out wearing an all black swat suit, he pops the trunk and pulls out an assault rifle. He squats down behind the left rear tire and aims his rifle over the trunk using his SC as a body shield. I don't think I'd want bullets flying at my SC but at least he has good taste in cars.

Scott,
I love my SC as much as the next guy, but if I gotta choose which one the bullet is going into, my SC or me...call the body shop, 'cause at least one of them can be fixed.

The wheels on the SC in Corky Romano are six spoke and 15-16". They look kinda like the wheels on some Crown Vics. I made a video clip of that section in the movie if anyone wants it, I dont have room to host it (its about 5-6megs).

First off that is NOT a Shelby in the movie 60 seconds,It is a fake, I collect these type of Mustangs and I looked real hard at that one and it is without any second though a fake. Now on to the Nash man's cuda,it is a 340 with the shacker on it,not a hemi.. The hemi would be way too much $$$$ for old Johnson to drive, plus the hemi people would have stolen it long ago.. That's it from this old car junkie......Rich

Hey, Rich. Been an old Shelby man myself. I haven't seen the movie yet so I have to ask, what gave it away that it wasn't a real Shelby? I may want to make some bets with my Shelby buddies. :-)

Hey guys, the fact that it is a fake was made aware before the movie was even released. ET (Entertainment Tonight) or something found out.

Lance, the two biggest things are the front end shots with the wrong lights and the gas filler in the roof 1/4 . There are some other things that also show the switch, but those two are very eazy to pick out to show your friends. If you need more I will rewatch the movie and make a better list for you,but that will not be high on my list of things to do. ......Rich

they had something like 6 of those mustangs. they had small v8's, and fake shelby exhaust, that wasnt being used. they had a custom body kit (that is NOT a shelby kit, although it looks tough, and can be bought for $7k)
and they were automatics, not sticks like the movie would suggest. the scences where they show the stick are a diff car than they were driving. nick cage had to pretend to be driving a real stick through the movie

funny you mention that scott... in Police Quest 4<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o"> pen season, you are a LAPD Det. and you drive a "1993 tbird" according to the game, but that car takes on many forms through out the game  one is a white 1989-1991 SC with LX wheels (ironic since ibought the game in '94) and a silver 92-93 lx in one shot that happens to be a shootout where the cop crouches behind the left rear 1/4 panal with a shotgun during a shootout.
There is one episode of COPS where the police respond to a call of two people "hittin it" in a car. When they show up, this guy is just about to get a piece and they pull the two out of the back of....none other than a black 89-92 SC. The guy claimed it was his buddies car, poor guy probably doesnt get the same attention in his GM

There was only one real shelby in the movie... that rusted restoration project at the end (according to a "inside" type tv thing I believe)
