Larger capacity brake lines or just stock replacement lines???

Thomas A
03-30-2006, 02:03 PM
Stock like replacements. The biggest benefit is you will not get hose expansion like you do on the rubber lines, so all the pressure will be going to your brakes. Also, they are mandatory for many open road racing classes, and should stand up to adverse conditions much better then the rubber ones, as they will not dry out and crack or get soft.

I'm in for a set for a 92SC and a set for a 95SC.

No one has mentioned the mounting bracketry yet, but that was a serious flaw with the Goodridge lines. I blew up a front Goodridge line because it had no mounting bracket and it rubbed on the sway bar. I recommend we at least ask them about brackets.

I don't remember specifying any dates on these. I did call for an update last Thursday, but didn't get ahold of who I needed to. I will be calling again tommorow to see what the status is.

This would be for just the brake hoses from the calipers to the mounting block on the car. Thanks.

I WILL HAVE PRICING INFO TODAY!!!!

These lines will include mounting brackets also. Once we have a price, and assuming it's not incredibly high, a test set of lines will be made for each group of cars. As soon as they are on and everything checks out, we will be ready for orders. Our minium buy in for each type is only 10 sets, so we shouldn't have any problem making this happen. I will update the post with pricing as soon as I know it.

Thanks for hanging in there with me on these. I really think they will be worth the wait!

PRICING!

$123.31 Per Set

All kits will include 4 hoses, crush washers, our style brackets and clips for mounting, and hoses will go all the way to the calipers with banjo bolts.

All we need are a minium of 10 sets. I will assume at that price it shouldn't be an issue based on the response so far. That price is set for 60 days. I will be taking the next step in this process immediately which will be to get a test fit of each type on a car. I do already have volunteers lined up for each, but if somthing changes I will let you know.

Feel free to post any feedback on this or any suggestions. This will happen! No idle talk of a GP or empty promises!

Hey Thomas, are there going to be considerations for early cars that have been converted to '93 & up spindles and big brakes? As I think is already mentioned earlier in this thread, the early and late hard lines have different threads.

Thomas A
05-05-2006, 12:41 AM
Good question Kurt. As far as the threads, there will be an application for '89-'92 and '93+ one the mounting side. As far as I could tell, the length was pretty much the same, so newer spindles or not, it shouldn't matter. Correct me if I am wrong on that.

The SS lines will be made slightly longer then OE also to accomadate lowered cars.

Well, the factory lines did work on my car, but it was very tight (I would not have wanted to do any hard, sharp cornering for fear of finding the length limit). Plus I had to cut one of the mounting blocks that the banjo bolt goes thru so the line would "clock" the correct direction (some people grind the caliper). The stainless lines that I have now are longer and have a round end on them for the banjo bolt.

I was more concerned with added length for 13" brakes.

The test lines are on there way. I hope to have them all on test vehicles and have the GP opened up by the end of next week.

Speaking with them, I might have to order all the lines myself and sell them back to you guys. I'm not sure on the full details just yet as to how they want to do it. Either way, I'll get something figured out.

I am just curios about this... So I know how many to order from you total. You are testing diffrent years so I guess that's what I will need to be able to order accordinly. Thanks for all your doing for all of us... Good Job!!!

Thomas,

Can I still get in on this? I need to know exactly what it includes cause the car I need the for looks to have almost no brake lines on it at all  For some stupid reason Lawrence thought it be cool to remove everything out of the car and not tell me where they are or rather give me everything to put the car back together.

I have a '92 SC that I think I will have to put a non ABS master cylinder in it for simplisity and its got '93+ front spindles with '00 Cobra R four piston Brembo calipers on it.

What a head ache :(

Not a mayor restoration but making them shine a little more than what they are now. I want to order only for the ones we plan to keep or possibly sell down the road when the time is right. We're glad you found these.:)

Thomas, can I get stainless lines for the rear only if I need them or do I have to get all four?

These will be available as sets of 4 only.

I have them installed on my Lincoln, just need to finish bleeding them and making sure everything is okay. I'm meeting up with Doug to get him the lines to try on his '89 SC, and hopefully can get the '93 - '97 lines installed tommorow or Thursday, so we can be ready for orders.

Thomas,

I am assuming this is a stupid question. But, will these work with the PBR calipers. I know there is a slight modification to the stock line when switching to the PBR's but will the mod still need to be done with these.

Thomas A
05-30-2006, 03:00 PM
Yes, they will work with PBR calipers, and shoudn't have any issues with Bear, WillWood, etc. In fact, no modification is required for the PRB calipers like it is with the stock lines. The different mounting style easily clears all the sides of the caliper. I am installing Cobra PRB calipers on my Mark VIII, so I have verified this first hand!

I have installed the front brake lines with no issues. Didnt have to cut the bracket for the abs because it is already seperate. I did drill new mount holes for the new line bracket. As for the back, the driver rear i needed to buy a 3 way block to make it work. The block cost around $11. Its on order be here on friday.

It has been a while, so I feel it is time for an update. We have run into a few minor issues with the rear lines. I don't think it will take much to resolve this, and hopefully not add too much additional cost. There might be a slight price increase from the original price for the '89 - '92 lines. I will find out soon.

I plan to discuss the few issues that have come up with the manufacturer tommorow, and will hopefully be able to resolve them quickly.

Thanks for everyones support on these. This will happen! I talked with Doug tonight and he was very happy with the way his test lines felt. He said he noticed an immediate difference. This is a good product, and I think everyone will be happy with the end results. It will be worth the wait.

As mentioned earlier, I will not be adding any more name to the list. Please do not send me PM's asking when these will be ready, or if you can order them yet. I will update this thread when they are, and start a new thread in the GP forum.

I have two '95 SCs and you can add me to the list. SS Brake lines will be a great upgrade to these cars.

As mentioned earlier, I will not be adding any more name to the list. Please do not send me PM's asking when these will be ready, or if you can order them yet. I will update this thread when they are, and start a new thread in the GP forum.

The details on the lines have been taken care of. I am in the process of finalizing how the GP details will work, and hope to have a GP Thread started by Tuesday/Wednesday of this week.
