the a/c on my '91 SC quit working. i tried recharging it (it's been converted to 134a), and it won't take a charge. i replaced the low pressure switch thing but that made no difference either. it's blowing nothing but warm air. i'm pretty puzzled as to what could be wrong. can anyone help me out? thanks.

Might wanna check out your compressor clutch. If you swapped the refrigerant without purging the system first, then more than likely the mix of the old and new refrigerants caused internal corrosion.

When you go to recharge the system, you have the engine running, and turn the a/c on. If it is empty, the compressor will not kick on. Buth when you connect a can of R-134a to it, the compressor should kick on. If not, then the compressor may have locked up. That is my first guess
