Sup guys im looking to get a few aftermarket gauges for my pod, im thinkin just boost and oil pressure and maybe a water temp. But what i dont understand some gauges say mechanical and some say full sweep electrical. There is a big price differance in em. Anyone suggest which ones to get?

the full seep electronic ones work like mechanical gauges... they use up all of the surface of the gauge... jsut get the electric regular ones with sensors... they are also super accurate... the full sweep is too expensive...

Since when does a Mechanical gauge work like an electrical gauge? And what does mechanical have to do with how many degrees the needle sweeps? You can buy both mechanical & electric gauges, in various amounts of sweep.

The real mechanical or electrical question is: Do you really want an actual oil or gas pressure line BEHIND THE DASHBOARD?

I'd get boost, wideband AFR, and EGT.

That will cost you a pretty penny, but you'll have everything you need IMO.

Fuel pressure and Trans temp are the two I'm using in the pillar pod. Full sweep electric is the only way to go for fuel pressure, because it needs to respond very quick and be accurate. For things that don't require instant gauge response like trans temp, oil temp, coolant temp ect..the standard electric gauges are fine.

Mechanical gauges use a small hose or line to actually measure pressure at the gauge. I think your allowed to use any mechanical gauge inside your car except for fuel and nitrous pressure. Personally I find running wires much easier than running hoses, so my gauges are all electric.
