cup holder mod

I did the Taurus cup holder thing, or tried to. I cannot get it to slide into the slot and fit flush. It goes in all of the way but wants to be tilted down somewhat. Near as I can tell the wiring in the back is out of the way. What am I doing wrong?

Something isn't out of the way. The top should be flush, the bottom corners stick out a bit. It should lock in securely.

Ya gotta get your head down there with a flashlight and make sure nothing is in the way.
