Looks like my Kumho summer tires have holes where rubber was once there. Time to purchase a newer set.

Any feedback on the Falken ZE512 All season tires? Is anyone running them as there isn't much coming up on the forum search.

http://www.tiretrends.com/tire_info.php3?detailID=6917

I received a reasonable installed price of $114/each for v-rated 440 life @ Bramalea.

The next best deal is the Fuzion ZRI at about $120/each 320life plus shipping plus install.

Plus currency exchange, plus shipping and brokerage, plus installation ... ;)

John, keep in mind that you can't compare the treadwear number from one manufacturer to another. That number isn't standardized, it only relates to a control tire within each manufacturer's tire lineup.

The Best Deal I could find for these tires in our area was $215/tire, balanced and installed.

Just get the fusion I got a set of the HIR not the Z rate ones on the mark 8
I will tell you there some of the best tires out there for the price I got a set of 4 size 225 60 16 for 550$ all in and this was even having them high speed balanced. On the Tbird I have SZ50 firestone tires these were top of the line ones about 4 years ago with a price of 250$ Each at the time but when I picked them up for a lot less. When comparing the 2 of them the fusions take it there ride is nice as well one big plus there better in the rain by a long shot.
The place I got that is on Highway 10 just south of the 407 and no one will come close to his price. The best I found that came close last fall was 650$ from anyone eles.

I just put the same Falken tires on my 90 TBird. I am quite happy with them -- no complaints whatsoever.

I got them from Kal Tire (in Vancouver) total bill was $705 installed, including taxes and everything.

Hello Tbird lady. I also have a 90 as well.
Did you get the 60 or 50 series tires for your car? My friend has a 97 bird with the Firestone 50's on it and they just fit! I don't know if 50's will plug in under my wheel wells as I think they might rub on the struts.
How is yours?

Will the 245/50/16's fit on the stock rims? Any clearance problems?

Will the 245/50/16's fit on the stock rims? Any clearance problems? No, they will fit, and you won't have any rubbing problems... but, they bulge a little (if you like that look then you'll be happy with that size).

255/50/16's will fit a stock rim too. I've had both sizes on my stock rims, but again I don't care for the tire bulge.

Currently I run 235/55/16's on my stock rims and they look great! (IMO this is the size all SC's should have come with from the factory :) ). The problem is this size is not very common and your brand choices are somewhat limited.

A decision has been made. I went with option C and took a chance in purchasing Mr. Varrik's used P6000 Pirelli Sport Veloce H rated 225/60/16. And so far so good.

During my research I found that there is a give and take ratio between all of the different tires, brands and their dealers. H, V ,Z rated have their marketing and price levels, brand names have their positioning levels and price points again. Summer versus all season again have their separate appeals. Width sizes have their own positives and negatives as the stock size 225 offers performance and lower rolling resistance versus 245 or larger offer a larger foot print, higher resistance and the need for frequent rotation( the shoulders wear quicker). Paul is correct as 235 is a nice compromise
As far as dealers . some are arses and liars while others you can trust.

It comes down to price, treadlife and performance and trust in a dealer.

So for anyone looking for value and performance - The Fuzion tire are a good choice and if you are looking for Value, performance and treadlife then the Falkens look good. As for a trustworthy dealer , that is up to you but I liked dealing with John @ www.bramaleatire.com in the GTA area.

I hope that helps.

PS. I also called BF Goodrich Canada directly inquiring about the discrepancy between the pricing of the G-Force sport tires . At Tirerack they are priced reasonable but in Canada they are double the price. A lot of the other tires @ 1010Tires and Tiretrends are priced proportionately to the US $ versus Canadian dollars... we are at almost .90 cents now. Unfortunately, BF Goodrich stated that they in no way can deal with the pricing as this is up to the dealers to decide.
Which I understand as meaning , "thanks for the call but if you don't like it , buy someone else's tires....." OK WILL DO.
