If you have the 94-95 alternator you'll need the spacer,

if it's a 89-93 style you wont/// apparently i got a rebuilt one for my 89 and i wind up having a later style alternator, and i need a spacer...

i have a UD Pulley set but it idnt come with a spacer

The newer alternators have a lip on the front case surrounding the shaft. Rather than install a spacer I simply ground down the lip with a hand file. The reason I did this is because the pulley was perfectly lined up when installed, but wouldn't spin because it was jammed up against this lip. With the supplied spacer installed the pulley spun just fine but the alignment was a bit off (pulley was a bit too far forward, and I didn't like that at all).

I'm sorry, forgot to mention - they are stock size. I didn't feel comfortable putting my water pump and alternator under more stress than they are nowI'm not following your reasoning here Payton  Any aluminum pulley set will reduce the load on the crankshaft and waterpump shaft. If they are stock diameter pulleys, then you are still spinning the waterpump and alternator at the stock RPMs. There simply is no "downside" with these pulleys! Please clarify...

That's right, Paul. Can't agree more with you on that. I am sorry, maybe I expressed myself wrong, but I meant that with stock size aluminum pulleys you are spinning WP and altesnator at the same RPM's.
