No Brake Lights in Hardeville, SC

Went for a 4 day weekend, I realized when we were almost here the brake lights are not working.

No tools, etc. Help please!

See this thread, I originally thought the only problem was the Cruise.

Everything else works, Hazard, turn, running/park, license plate. (Not exactly sure about the backup lights)

Thanks,
Sam

Sam, it could be the brake light switch, located on the brake pedal. If the brake lights aren't working and the cruise doesn't disengage, I would think the switch is bad.

It is either the switch or it is the harness that connects to it. Have seen many a Ford brake lamp switch harness break just before the connector because the harness is too short and the constant movement and flexing in that area.

FYI: I took the Z shaped wiring harness off the brake pedal, shorted it with a paper clip and the lights came on. I have a new swtich coming into Springfield Ford tomorrow.

Thanks,
Sam
