Anyone have any opinions of a "Clayton CT400 water brake chassis dyno". There is one locally here in the Barrie area which I may use in the near future for a couple of pulls but don't know much about accuracy and how it compares to other dynos. Here's a link to thier website also.

I don't know if anyone would want to drive up to Barrie to have their car dyno'd but they do offer club discounts etc.

I read an article recently (wish I could find it) dealing with the differences in dynoes. What the writer said, was that real world mumbers are real world numbers, no matter what duno you used. Each of them will give you numbers to baseline and tune on, HP and Torque numbers. He tested his car on 4 different dynoes, and though the numbers were askew, he said that if you stayed with the same dyno, it really wouldnt make much diff to your car. Much of it has to do with weather/temp/humidity/sea level and such, and a good programmer will take these factors into account when doing a tune. I am sure Dave Dalke's method of tuning is different than others, but his numbers, if used all the time, will provide a level of consistency. Others will have a lot more experience at this than I do.

Eric,
I think I talked to that guy I would say about 2 years ago and at that time he was only renting the dyno for the day for club events and stuff like that.
Is it still a portable dyno?
I know he was setting up some dyno drag race thing at the time. As for numbers if there anything like a dyno Jet it's hard to tell I'm dont even think he had a good idea on the diffence of them. I was willing to try one to see.
The only thing that kept me from trying was how the cars are straped down I dont want to see my car move on the dyno.

I am going to give them a try and see what kind of results that it gives compared to the other ones that I have. Ian and my friend Mark with the Mustang are going to give it a shot in a couple of weeks, I'll let you guys know the results.
Jason, I'm not too sure if the dyno is a portable one or not, I did stop by the shop and talk to the guy but didn't actually take a look at the dyno. How do they strap them down? I really don't want my car to move either but they do quite a few high hp cars so I probably shouldn't worry too much.
