To convert a shop would test for leaks and vacuum out the system and refill with R134A, to be done properly you would replace the compressor and evaopator and condensor as this would assure that the system would be up to par as the new R134A doesnt get as cold as the old R12

If your wanting to convert it you can use duracool costs under a 100$ to do it and you can do it your self. not only that but it blows cold like R12 does.

I converted a '90 XR7 from 12 to 134 last year. All pieces including compressor, condensor and evaporator for just a touch under $1K. Labour was a $100 and the pieces were wholesale. Tax was $135. It's ice cold and I know it's done right. Admittedly, a little pricey simply for air, but I'll be the one with dry gitch with my windows up. :)

Where would I get the duracool?

Thanks again for advise!

you can do a web search for duracool and find them and where a deal is in your area.
