Clutch Master Cylinder Assembly Question

So I purchased a new clutch master cylinder from a local auto store. Funny thing is the master cylinder came with the metal rod not installed and with directions stating that there might be special tools involved. So my question is do I just shove the rod into the master cylinder and call it good or is it more technical than that? I will take pictures and display them later if anyone is curious.

Thanks

Yep, I just shoved mine into the cylinder and it locked into place.

I installed the rod after mounting the cylinder to the firewall.

what the hell, mine didnt come with a new one, I just did this job last week.

I read that removal of the clutch line was needed so you could get the pin out of the old one, but me being my lazy self just used the dremel with the cut off wheel and bam got the pin out and then used channel locks to press the pin in the new one all in the car.

Hope that helps as an alternative to removing the line.
