strange coolant leak...

I have a weird coolant leak that only occurs after driving long distances or in cold weather. The thermostat housing leaks only in these conditions. Every time it happens I'll either buy a new theremostat and gasket or just a gasket and install, just to have it happen again. Anyone have any clue how I can cure this??

maybe its your thermostat housing...perhaps its warped. I remember i had a problem with mine......i think i over torqued the bolts and it warped causing a coolant leak...i had to buy a used one from the junk yard. You can try replacing that and see what happens.....the thing only costs a few bucks.

Mine leaks too. Redid the cooling system and installed new
t-stat and gasket. Didn't leak for a while, then just started
dripping like every 59 miles or something. Not much. Just
top off once a month.

I've run into this on other cars and its usually the thermostat housing thats warped a bit. Although I did run into one old aluminum intake that was warped on the thermostat housing mount. Anyway the odds are good that if you replace the housing you'll stop the leak.
