Which part is leaking (gas)

So I got the notorious gas leak, I've done a search and came up with a few scenarios, tell me which one you think it is.

Recently I dropped the tank to take the drive shaft out. Filled up with a full tank today and it's leaking right by the passenger rear wheel, which seems common in the other posts I've read. It's leaking when the car is turned off or on at a somewhat slow but steady drip.

Which one of these do you think it probably is, just a guess I know but maybe I can pin point it before I drop the tank again.

1. O-ring gasket on fuel pickup.
2. Pickup is cracked where feed line is soldered in.
3. Fuel line recall on early models. Plastic fuel line rubs on body and leaks.

Thanks guys

4. All of the above......

lol, I sure hope not, I drove it home today at lunch and didn't notice it dripping anymore. So it's gotta be somehting when it's close to being completly full. Which makes me happy becuase I don't want to pull that damn thing again, or at least not anytime soon!

Hey, Ed did you ever find out a shipping price on DHL ?

If it only happens when it's full then I'd go for the cracked solder joint where the fuel line enters the top plate. I haven't heard of too many problems with t/birds, but my wife's 1991 Escort GT was a real "dripper" until I found out that Ford had lots of problems with their fuel pump manufacturer (same style pump as the Bird). It's really hard to find, but atleast on the Escort it had an access panel under the back seat, so I could at least check it out every time we filled it. At first I thought it was something to do with the fill pipe, but the leak was further back.
Good Luck.

I've had the same leak in one of my SC's. It drips right under the passenger's seat, but only when the tank is near full. My mechanic said we'd have to pull the tank to find the problem so instead of that, I learned to stop fueling before it got full and never had any problems.

If I ever did fill the tank then I just took a nice little ride to burn off some fuel and that kept it from leaking.

Of course, taking a little ride is a more expensive solution than it used to be......

I was starting to think the same thing, no big whoop if it's never full...
