weird Idle, suggestions?

Hey, having an issue with the car. It starts up fine, and doesn't die. Just, it's idling at about 1200 rpms and runs up to about 1800 for a min and then back down.. Kinda like how some cars run at a higher rpm till they are warmed up and then back down.. this one is fluctuating back and forth.. and when it does kick down it is idling high.. Anything inparticular I should check for or.. clean? thanks

Might be a vac leak, or your IAC valve could be acting up, don't try to clean them as they are not exactly cleanable but electrical cleaner might be ok.

okay.. I had a friend that has a simular problem and it was due to gunk blocking the sensor that was in the tubes behind the TB. but I'm just not sure what the issue is here, also, the check engine light is on.. I might just take it to ford and let them rape me so I can have the issue fixed..

I had this problem on one of my other SCs and it was the throttle position sensor, easy fix.
