Does anyone know of a fuel shut off or a spark reatding feature that kicks in when your engine reaches a certain temperature. When it gets hot, mine is runnign hot now as it has a blocked rad i think.

Don't know for sure but it sounds logical that the coolant temperature sensor could trigger the PCM to cut back on power when overheating. It could also be that the engine just naturally performs poorly when it gets overheated... How hot is your engine getting? If it gets too hot for too long the headgaskets will go. That will definitely cause a decrease in power/performance;)

When my coolant leaked out completely, the blower only went to zero. Never got any serious boost out of it. The computer will shut things down.

Similar to my 2001 Frontier. Knock sensor was faulty, so the computer shut down the blower in the same way.

Computer, EEC, DIS, whatever it's called that controls that junk.
