ok i was going down the highway and forgot i shifted out of overdrive and put it in Drive while i was in town.

well i got on the highway not noticing i was in normal D, i was going about 60 MPH and i wanted to pass this guy so i hit the gas to pass and i was like  holy ~~~~. i said to my girlfriend omg did you see that. i went from 60 to 80 in about 2 seconds. normally when i pass someone i watch there car go by me as i pass them but this time they where gone right when i hit the gas... i didn't realize until a minute or so later when i looked down that i was in D and not (D)

is it bad to drive at those speeds in that gear or is it ok.
what will or can it do if i drive in that gear at those speeds ?

Oh My God!!!!

Fun isn't it going from 60-80 mph!!!!

There is no problem driving in drive VS overdrive except a lot of gas and heating up the engine if running it hard. Overdrive is meant to be an efficient way of saving gas and making the engine run at a lower rpm.

It's a good idea to run the car in drive around town as not to make the car shift in and out of (OD).

Have fun.....no harm done!!!!:D
