did the early sc motors have that metal tray in the oil pan? i had bought a 89 sc motor from my friend and i dont remember if that motor had one too? what is the purpose of it.

there is a metal "baffel" in the pan that keeps the oil from sloshing around so much to starve the oil pump pickup.
