Cruise Control - Brake Cut Out Switch

So I have been driving around for over a year cause I stripped the threads on my cruise control cut out switch (for the brake armature) when doing a repair on my ABS.
Evidently, another wise move on the Ford engineers was to use a plastic threaded vacuum cut out switch, and a really poor design on the metal clip that holds it into place.
When I adjust it into place, the force of the spring to disengage the cruise control is stronger than the plastic threads can hold. I tried taping the switch in teflon tape hoping that would help the threads but that didn't work.
Then I took out the metal clip and bent it into a smaller radius and then put it back in.
Whaah Laaaah! It works now. So try that if any of you want to save your back from raking across the driver seat spring and sharp bracket, while scraping up your arm and hand on the sharp plastic and metal under the dash for five times until you figure it out.....;)
