new ford starter, new batt and new power and ground wires
when i start it in the morning or when it has sat for a while it will spin rite over and start up
butt when it is hot ,or i cut it off and try to restart it ,it will crank over real slow and almost seem as if it is hydro locking with a blown head gasket .it acts as if i have a bad starter or the timing is advanced to far and fighting to start, engine runs great ,has great compresion,no blockage in the exhaust, the old starter did it and the 3 new ford starters do it also ,as it is trying to spin the motor over i can see black smoke coming from the exhaust .any ideas
thanks
mike

I bet you have something similar to me, an injector leaking down and filling the cylinder with fuel. The black smoke is it burning out. I get this every once and a while with mine.

i have already checked the fuel pressure l;eak down and all is good there ,after sitting for bout 15 mins i still have about 38 lbs of pressure in the system,on a nother note i did also replace the selonoid on the fender well
