Fat Shafts

Has anybody ever actually installed a Fat Shaft on the drivers side? I've heard that it could be done, but never found anybody who's actually done it.

The actual Ford fat-shafts are no longer available. They were originally on the passenger side of the diff on the early model 5-speeds and some automatics.

I have the Raxles big shafts installed on both sides of my car. The bigger shafts go right in just like their smaller cousins, the stock shaft. The part of the shaft between the ends is the only part that is thicker. Plus the Raxles have heavy duty CV joints.

Here's a pic of a Raxles and a fat shaft. Raxle is on the left. It doesn't neck down like the fatshaft did.

Re: Raxles

I have Raxles too. My extremely late '89 XR-7 HAD a fat shaft. A friend of mine wants to buy the Fat Shaft for the passenger side of his SC. I was just wondering if anybody had ever performed this swap.
