View Full Version : ABS light on

06-22-2006, 07:43 PM
If I am driving down the road and I press the brakes the abs light goes on for a split second then goes off it does this every time I press the brakes. Also the brake light comes on at the same time. What could it be? I have not done any high speed quick stops or anything yet but the car seems to stop fine at normal stops. What is it?

Thanks Dan

Use the search tool, there are lots of posts about brake issues. It is very common on our cars. You should be able to find out all the info you need there.

I know the cheap ($35 at WalMart) Actron code reader for our OBD-1 cars will also read the ABS. Maybe try AutoZone, sometimes they will read them for you. Then post the 2 digit code here or do a Forum search, because the code chart has been published before. Same thing happened to me and it was like code 33; so I simply needed to replace one of the front wheel sensors.
