Hi there. I'm having some issues with my cars ECU
Its an 89 Auto, but i had a wiring issue that blew my ecu. so i replaced it with a comp from an 89 5spd. It runs, and there are no check enigne lights, but it seems to idle strangely, and i can smell fuel. it is running quite rich.
So i tried an ECU from a 90 Auto, and i got a check engine light.
And i tried one from a 91 5 spd. and i got a check engine light.
i put the one from the 5spd 89 back in, no check engine light, but it still runs funny.
My original computer number was A9Z2
the 89 5 spd computer number was A9V2
What are the differences? My car actually has a 5spd engine in it.
Will running the 5spd ecu make a difference from the 89 auto ecu?
or is it running rich because of the comp relearning how to idle after being disconnected?
The car is low on gas as well, could that be making it run rich?
I cant drive the car right now, as I dont have a liscence for 3 more weeks, so i dont know how it reacts on the road. but any info in this subject would really help me out.I need it road worthy when i get my liscence back...
