Dis Module

Those are very different! The 89-93 are pretty much the same and the 94-95 is the same.

well, Somehow my 1990 coupe still has the 1990 model DIS, even though it has a 95 motor in it that was swapped in before I bought the car. Any ideas why this is so?

Jeff

The DIS module is just one part of the system that involves the wiring harness, PCM (EEC) and the crank sensor/pickup/damper. Most newer engine swaps into older models retain the early DIS system to greatly simplify the swap.

Even the AC mounting bracket is different from the early to late models since the DIS was moved to the passenger side inner wheel well on the late models.

The 89-93 DIS assemblies are completely interchangeable many folks in the club have done this due to simple availibility.

Your 95 motor has a 90 DIS because your electronics and the EEC are 1990. 94-95's used a totally different DIS that is not compatible with your 90 EEC and wiring.
