He$$, he needs to teach us all!!

Boy I wish I knew how to do that. Is that all by hand, and how about you put together a "how to" for some of us who only know how to rub on turtle wax??

Ancient Chinese secret!

lol

It's not hard. I'll type something up for everyone this evening.

I use a PC (Porter Cable 7336) dual action polisher (purchased from Lowes for $109.00). I purchased the rubber backing plate ($20) & foam cutting, polishing, & finishing pads ($10 each) from www.specialtymotoring.com. Apply polishes & wax with the PC, then remove by hand with microfiber. I get my polishes & wax from www.poorboysworld.com. Poorboys products can also be applied by hand with good results, but the PC is worth every penny.
Step 1: Wash & dry. Mothers or Mequiers soap are both fine. I dry with a California Water Blade & microfiber drying towels.
Step 2: Clay. VERY important! It's useless to wax over the crud & crap in your paint! Mothers & Meguiers both make a nice clay bar kit containing a bottle of quick detailer to use as lubricant. I prefer the Meguiers kit because it comes with a nice, big microfiber cloth. Here's a link about using clay: http://www.autogeek.net/detailing-clay-bar.html By the way, if you accidentally drop the clay, throw it away. It will pick up sediment from the ground & scratch your paint if you try to use it.
Steps 3 & 4 are only if necessary. Otherwise go directly to step 5.
Step 3: If you've got visible swirls or oxidation, polish with the PC & a cutting pad with swirl removing compound. (Poorboys SSR 1, 2, or 3)
Step 4: Polish if needed. If your paint is newer & in good shape with a good shine, you probably don't need to polish. I use Poorboys Polish with Carnauba (blue) & a polishing pad for the PC.
Step 5: Sealant. Applied with the PC & a polishing pad. Must wait at least 24 hours for sealant to cure before you wax.
Step 6: Wax. I use Poorboys Nattys blue paste wax applied with the PC & a finishing pad. I like carnauba wax better than the newer polymer waxes. Sure, the polymers will last longer. But nobody will ever convince me they shine like carnauba.
Good sources of info for detailing:
http://www.detailcity.org/ (Great forum. Lots of good people sharing info, just like here!)

Hope this helps.
