Mine were on all the time on my 5-speed due to a faulty switch. I changed it and it fixed it.
On my auto, both bulbs are burnt out, well one has a bad connection. I haven't had working lights in a while. Its a courtesy to others in a parking lot but other than that unless you have a state safety inspection you can probably just pull the bulbs out for now and be ok.

i have them in working order now, was the 10a fuse, but these lights are a PITA to mess with.
I have an alaarm system, but could it be the switch in the tranny?
